We tried to make a fire to understand what it was like for the Native Americans. We did teambuilding activities to get to know each other even better and we ate the best food ever. We absolutely loved the trip and are thankful for everybody who helped make it possible. curriculumMath:

We’re working on opinion writing and practiced making inferences. S.S: We finished doing the Oregon Trail project where we traveled in "families" on the virtual trail. Writing: We corrected other students' opinion papers to see what an excellent opinion essay should look like. We also began researching famous women for our upcoming opinion writing. We will argue why a certain woman is the most influential in history. This past week our class did lots of science labs. Those are when you do science. We experimented with density and mass and also volume. There was an egg experiment where we got two cups and two eggs and salt and we put one egg in fresh water and another in salt water. The egg in the saltwater floated. The egg in the freshwater didn't float. We did another experiment that tested density. We used 9 different liquids. You poured them into a cup and got to see the different layers. This showed density. We learned a lot from these experiments cUrriculumMath:
-We learned about conversions and how to use tape diagrams to represent fraction multiplication. Science: -We learned about density and mass. Language Arts -We learned about opinion writing and are continuing to finish our Social Studies opinion paragraphs. -We also learned about the different Literature Circle jobs we will be doing in Lit Circles starting this week. Social Studies: -We continued learning about the Trail of Tears. -We are reading two books about the Trail of Tears and will have Oral Storytelling Presentations on the Trail of Tears later next week. Everyone sang Christmas songs. The children got to play instruments and other fun things. Mrs.Kimmel did a wonderful job of directing the program. In the morning, we performed for the school. In the afternoon, the parents came to watch. Everyone did an amazing job. We can’t wait to see the spring program. curiculumFor a reward our class got to play with the district robots. We had several of them. One of them were called Makey Makey, another was called Dash and Dot. For Makey Makey, we used play dough and connected it to the computers and could play a video game. Dash and Dot were two robots that you controlled on an ipad and you could make them move how you wanted. You could even make it dance. It was a super fun to do this. I hope we can do it again. Here are two of us playing with Little Bits. This is a very interesting tech toy because you can make different circuits and complete challenges. Some of us made light bulbs light up, made alarms, and much more. CurriculumMath:
